One book I have a connection with is Wishtree by Katherine Applegate. I have a connection with this book because I am all into protecting nature. I try to spend as much time as I can outside. This book is from the tree’s point of view. The tree is called the Wishtree because people come up to it and tie red ribbons with their wish written on it. Local community members who loved nature and the wish tree did not want it cut down. So they protested to the tree company to keep it standing. The tree had been there for a very long time. I hate to see trees being cut down. When I go on hikes or hang out under and in the trees in my yard it is like a hideout. When we were putting our pool in, I felt just like the community members in the book. We had to cut down and trim back some trees. It made me think of this book and how much I wanted to protect nature. This is how I made a connection with Wishtree.
