Turn the Mozart off, I beg you

By Ashley, age 14

I celebrated. “A few weeks of no school, so what,” is what I thought. But two weeks turned into two months, and two months turned into two years. I sure hope that doesn’t turn into two decades. Being in quarantine has had its ups and downs. But definitely more downs. It was excruciatingly painful at how bored I was. I spent a lot of time with myself, which I had never done before. When I am left alone with my thoughts, I tend to overthink and well, that never ends well. I felt like a vampire, barely getting any sun in my system, and when I did, it stung.

However, since I had too much time on my hands, I started exploring random topics that piqued my interest. Astronomy, music production, I even attempted studying the worms that lived in my backyard.

It was actually refreshing to learn about things I was interested in. Heck, my mom blasted Mozart every morning and I think I turned insane. It’s a love-hate relationship with Covid 19.
