The Upside-Down Way Home

By Nevaeh, Age 10

My friend and I were waiting until it was 2020, like normal people do. Here it comes 1, 2, 3…HAPPY NEW YEAR! We were so excited! We ate candy and so many other things–it was the best time of our lives. A few months later, March came around. My family members and I were all watching the news and we saw that some virus came out. We didn’t think much of it at first. A few weeks later, that virus came to be something even bigger than we imagined. We had to start wearing masks and FACE SHIELDS. It was horrible. The worst time ever. I was so worried about school and that we wouldn’t be able to go. Then they  announced we had to do remote learning. I felt so confused about how to do school online. It felt like everything was upside-down.

I finally know much more about remote learning. It wasn’t so bad after all. I realized that it actually felt good to be home for some time.  Home is my happy place.
