The Trip

By Angela, age 10

Finally! We arrived! In AMERICA!

“Angela! We’re going to target quickly to get groceries for the night.” Is this a dream? I haven’t been to Target in a long time! “Coming!”

I can’t believe we’re going to stay here for a month!

Fast forward to a week. It has been the best! We went shopping every day! We also went on many hiking trails, and my cousins and I are getting our vaccines tomorrow! Eeek!

“Ouch!” I got my vaccine, and I didn’t feel the best. My cousins and I felt down for the whole night and got fevers. So the next day, my mom tested all my cousins and me. We were all positive. Then I said to myself, “Are we losing hope? What’s going to happen now?” Then a few days later the rest of my family got covid. My whole family started falling like Dominoes, but I knew we still had hope in our family.

I knew there was still hope. But not just any hope. The Hope of the Barangay G.

A week later, “Negative!” My mom screamed! YAY! I knew there was still hope. But not just any hope. The Hope of the Barangay G. When the Barangay G falls, we always get back up.
