The Time of Perseverance
By Margherita, age 10
It started when my dad was away for work and the rest of my family was at home, so happy my dad would come tomorrow. Then I heard the news shouting that this new virus was spreading faster than expected. They said soon it will come to Austria. While we were already so worried about this my dad said he was stuck in Warsaw because of this. He was trapped there. “Why did this happen now, why not in 10 years!!” I sobbed. This was going to separate me and my dad. I couldn’t handle this, but I was strong enough. I knew this meant I wouldn’t see my dad but I had hope. Whatever happens, my family will be here with me. It’s ok I told myself. I hoped I was right.

Time passed, dad was still not here, I was doing online school and my mom was trying to work so much. It was 2022 and still this virus was here, killing people, separating us from our families. But we didn’t give up, we are going to fight this virus. Even if it takes years, I believe, someday it will go back to normal.
