The Joys to Pandemic

By Aanya, Age 11

Well, the joys of the pandemic all started that night. I remember it like it was yesterday. Well, there I was, about to go to sleep. Then, I heard some voices. I walked in quietly and listened.
“Do you know that because of Covid-19, all the factories have shut down due to the lockdown?” my dad said.
“Oh really!” Mom exclaimed.
Then, I coughed.
“What do you need, Aanya?” Mom asked.
“I was about to go to sleep,” I answered.
I left the room as quickly as I could, went to the bunk bed, climbed it, and flopped on the bed. I closed my eyes and thought about it. There, my joys continued. The Zoom meeting started, and I got to see my third-grade teacher, Ms. Skiba. Not face-to-face. Then, as we learned, I began to read more books. The joys of the pandemic resumed. Time passed so quickly that soon the lockdown was over. I spent my whole fourth-grade year on the computer for safety. But, now I am in fifth grade, talking to my friends and teachers face-to-face.
