The Great Parts of the Pandemic

By Zahra, Age 10

Online school was very difficult, and sometimes the internet connection was bad. At least I was in my house, which was nice, cozy, and safe. I wanted to go face to face again, though my parents knew staying at home was safer, so I stayed online.

Since I was home 24/7 I had a choice, I could look at the situation as the glass half empty, or as the glass half full. I decided to look at the situation as a glass half full.

I got to pick up some fun hobbies like reading, and helping my mom bake cookies.

I got to pick up some fun hobbies like reading, and helping my mom bake cookies. I remember one time, my sister and I were playing a game, and we almost died of laughter.  We’ve been closer than ever since that game.

Just because we’re stuck at home, doesn’t mean we should give up. We should never lose hope. Hope is seeing a tiny light through all of the darkness. Covid will be gone, and things will go back to normal. Until that happens, remember to make the most of bad situations, because some people have gone through much worse than I or you have, and for that, I’m grateful and hopeful for the future.
