Stuck at Home

By Sally, Age 10

What happened when the pandemic came? I think we all had similar stories. We all got worried, started being extra careful, and wore masks. We were probably all stuck at home.

My story has a few twists and turns. It wasn’t very normal. About three years ago, covid started. My dad was a pulmonologist, and treated patients with covid. Because of this, my family was extra worried he would get covid and give it to us. So we were extremely careful, and being stuck at home didn’t make it better.

Being stuck at home did have a few positive effects on me. I read books often, and even wrote some! I wrote poems, and so many more things. I sent my books to my teachers, and got extra credit on assignments with low grades. I improved myself in so many ways, and found many ways to enjoy being stuck at home.

I learned that bad things happen and we don’t always have control over them. I learned that you can always find the light in the dark

From Covid, I learned new things. I learned that bad things happen and we don’t always have control over them. I learned that you can always find the light in the dark, but most importantly, I learned how to have fun while being stuck at home.
