Slip-and-Slide

By Atri, age 12

My life during COVID wasn’t that grim. For spring break in 2020, my family and I were planning on going to ski in Canada. Then COVID hit, and my parents were frightened that the trip would get canceled. We then ended up driving to my grandparents’ house. We ended up getting stuck there because of COVID. It was cold there because it was early March, but it got warmer. I did virtual school from the dining room, and my sister did her virtual school from the fancier living room.

When it got warmer, we started getting bored of just playing in the lawn, so my mom got us a slip-and-slide. That was awesome.

When we got back, we had a short amount of time before going to school. At the start of the year, I was virtual, and then after winter break, we were in person. That year was kind of hectic. Over the summer we did some things that would normally happen, but not what we would normally do. And this year isn’t that bad except for masks.
