Road trip

By Serena, Age 9

The vaccine was out, and it was looking like we were going to get through things. Going on road trips was something that kept us going.

We climbed into the car, and we drove to Mexico. Once we were there, we had lunch roadside and continued driving. We were going to a motel to stay for the night. On the way there, we went over some dirt puddles and got splashed. The car. Not us. I yelled “Zoinkers!” at each one. When we got there, we had dinner. The food was amazing, ice cream included. Afterwards, we all conked out around 9 p.m.

We woke up around 4 a.m., courtesy of an annoying beeping alarm. Amazingly, the kitchen staff was already up and cooking waffles. We ate, then headed out the door. We planned to go fishing. It was my very first time. We caught about 50 fish in total. It was so fun.
