Pandemics, Perks, and Pals
By Samuel, Age 11
Have you ever thought about how a pandemic can help you grow closer to your friends? Well, I didn’t, but the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020 helped me see that God can bring good out of bad. For the most part, my friends are usually busy after school, but during the pandemic, everyone was home! After online learning, we would meet up outside for all sorts of outdoor games. For instance, I don’t think I’ve ever done an egg toss in my life! It was so much fun and practically free. I’ve never been a big bike rider but since I had nothing else to do, my friends and I spent countless hours riding around the neighborhood. I got to exercise and have fun! Since I was with everyone all the time, practicing my social skills was a real treat. Discovering new places like the “bamboo forest” with my friend was exhilarating, and I went down to the Trinity River. My friend Graham and I made many iMovie productions.
I would say that the pandemic was not boring or terrible at all looking back at all the fun activities I did!
