My Third Grade Incident

When I was in third grade, news about covid was going around. One day, a kid came up to me and yelled “You betrayed us! You betrayed us!” Then their friend came up to me and told me it was because I was Chinese and brought Covid. I immediately freaked out and told the teacher. At this point, I was sobbing. I went to the vice-principal and she called my parents and told them what happened. I got home and I sobbed to my parents, but they told me that it was not anyone’s fault that this virus started. This made me realize that it was not anyone’s fault for this pandemic and people who blame you for it just don’t know what they’re saying. This gave me hope to keep pushing through that year even though people said horrible things to me.
