My Pandemic Story
By Eileen, Age 9
It was a normal school day at Langley Elementary. I was in math when the announcements went off: “Good evening students! I would like to inform you that we will be out of school for 2 weeks but we will come back soon!” I didn’t think about it. I was just excited for a break! But soon, 2 weeks turned into 2 months! Then my teacher sent an email saying “Hello students, we will start online learning! Here is the link. The class will be on Zoom!”
“ONLINE LEARNING?” I said to my mom. “Ugh, I will hate this year!”
After 2nd grade, I wanted to go to 3rd grade in person. But I was out of luck! And it was getting harder for me to learn. Half of the time, I was bored, and when I mean bored I mean BORED. But then came 4th grade, and it was in person! I was so excited that on the day of the open house, I was jumping up and down! Now I’m in 4th grade and it’s the best!
