My covid-19 story
By Lila, Age 11
One day, when I was at school, my teacher got a call that we would be leaving school for two weeks due to covid-19. Me and all my classmates were thrilled! Two weeks off from school–that’s awesome. I went to my tutor’s house after school when my dad came to pick me up. He told me they extended it to six weeks! I was so excited I was jumping up and down over a month off of school! On the way back to my house, I said I’m so excited to hang out with all my friends. I have six whole weeks to hang out with them! My dad explained to me that there is a bad virus going around, and that I can’t hang out with my friends. After my dad said that stuff, I started to get bored. I still had to do homework, and it was worse then regular school because I didn’t get to see my friends in person. The next day, my dad got an email that changed all our lives forever. Schools out for the rest of the year. The next year, we went online and now we’re in-person. Almost two years quarantined.
