Learning Virtual
By Tabitha, age 9
I remember when I had to start 3rd grade over Zoom. It was weird having to learn how to use everything for the first time while I had to do work and keep up with the class. It was also the first time I had my chromebook. We had to learn to take screenshots to put in our work. I had a few new classmates that joined that year. I felt bad for them because they didn’t know anyone at the school and they had to be virtual along with it!
I usually sat in the den and my dog Tonka always wanted to come lick me. She loved to lay on the couch beside me.
It was nice being able to see my siblings when we had breaks, but that made it hard to work. I usually sat in the den and my dog Tonka always wanted to come lick me. She loved to lay on the couch beside me. We got 5 or 10 minute breaks every day, this made it so that I could walk around a little bit. After a while I started sitting at my dad’s desk in the dining room. He had a monitor so I could see Zoom and my work at the same time. This made it much easier.
