Keeping others safe and healthy

By Sylvia, age 12

It was 2 years ago, January 2020, when the World Health organization declared the covid-19 outbreak, a public Health Emergency of International concern.  Two months later, March 2020, a Covid-19 World pandemic was declared. The entire world was in a state of panic and confusion. Then our government was closing down the stores, restaurants and other businesses. Big box and grocery stores were capped at a limited number of people. Next, the schools were automatically closed. All the students’ after school curriculums and programs were canceled. Our lives changed drastically and we had to re-adapt to living with the pandemic. In the end, the covid-19 pandemic was not a good experience. It had affected so many people and their daily lives, many lives were lost.  No one could predict when it was going to be fully over.  The last two years were very difficult to deal with both physically and mentally.  At the end of the day, sacrifices were made for everyone to stay healthy and avoid hospital visits. Sometimes, I wonder when things will return back to normal and how it was pre – covid.

At the end of the day, sacrifices were made for everyone to stay healthy and avoid hospital visits.
