10! 9! 8! 7! 6! 5! 4! 3! 2! 1! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Wherever you were at, you knew that the whole world was celebrating the arrival of a new decade. Fireworks filling the pitch-black sky with splashes of color, a distant crowd erupting in cheers – it was a perfect way to start off a new year. Nobody would have known what came next.
In the blink of an eye, the novel virus had plunged everyone into vulnerability, leaving them with no immediate solutions other than wearing masks and using hand sanitizers. As the number of cases rapidly changed, so did everyone’s lives – schools went online, international travel was restricted, and jobs were lost. From then on, it was like a roller coaster ride.
When the first vaccines were created, several casualties followed due to the side effects of the dosage. When such occurrences diminished, a new mutation was found. By then, it was almost normal for one to lose hope. However, humanity continued with its seemingly endless battle, hoping to put an end to it all.
As flowers bloom after the harsh cold, the buds of humanity will blossom soon.
