Immunity
By Ethan, age 11
My Covid-19 experience sounds like something from out of a book or a movie. It all started when my dad got sick, we didn’t expect much of it, but we got tested anyway. My whole family got tested, 8 people total. Turns out my Dad and the rest of my family, except my brother, tested positive. This meant we would all have to quarantine in a small home for 10+ days, and even worse, the power went out one night… that was a long night!
We all had to quarantine in a small home for 10+ days, and even worse, the power went out one night…that was a long night!
When we got tested again about a week and a half later, my brother and sister were able to go back to school, but my brother and I had to quarantine for a few more days. This time, my brother got positive. Now the whole family except me was infected! Another week passed, and it felt like a nightmare! I had to stay a fair amount of distance away from the entire family and even had to quarantine longer than all 5 of my other siblings! About a month passed of quarantine — yes, it seemed like forever — and my whole family was finally okay to go back in public. The crazy fact is that I was able to dodge Covid-19 living in a house of 8 people. Isn’t that crazy? I guess I am just immune…
