The pandemic had begun on the other side of the world. I wanted to shave my hair for cancer. I had wanted to do this: All. Summer. Long! It was February 1, 2020. I asked my mom if I could do it. I had been growing my hair for a while. She said yes if I raised money. So I did! My mom did a bunch of things like post photos of my hair to fund raise on Facebook. Then, it was the day. February 19th, 2020! It was a Friday. My family and I were driving to The mall. I was screaming my head off because I was so excited! When we were there, I saw all my extended family who came separately. Once I saw them, some were still donating more money. I raised $845! We were waiting in line for it to happen. Slowly, I walked up and sat in the chair and everything came to life.
At first, I didn’t really believe that it was happening. They tied my hair in pigtails and cut each pigtail: one by one. Then. They shaved. MY HEAD! It was the best day of my life. I want to do it again.
