Can’t Stop Us

“Alright Class. See you after spring break! Oh, and remember, we are staying home a little longer than usual.” That was the last thing I had heard in person from my 3rd grade teacher, Ms. Kelly.
It was a year of virtual school, and COVID was finally getting better. We were back in school. However, in the fourth grade, we did have virtual school for a couple of weeks. There seemed to be a little spike, and just for precautions, we went remote. 5th grade just started when I actually did get COVID. I was hysterical when the test came back positive. My stomach felt terrible! But to be honest, the whole situation wasn’t that bad. I went back to school that next week, and I was still treated the same. Thank goodness. A couple of weeks later, the rule now was that if you were vaccinated, you rarely had to wear your mask. Shows start taking off again, singers sang, and we’re–well–still us.
COVID definitely caught us off guard, but it’s not going to stop us.
