Bridge to Terabithia

By Ava, Age 10

One book that makes me feel finally seen is Bridge to Terabithia, because the character Leslie in
the book is tough and shy just like me.
Bridge to Terabithia is about a kid named Jess Aarons and he wants to be the fastest runner in
the fifth grade until the first day of school when Leslie Burke comes to town and outruns everyone.
Soon Jess and Leslie become close friends and they create a whole magical world of their own. One day
a terrible accident happens leaving Jess heartbroken!
My first reason why Bridge to Terabithia makes me feel finally seen is that Leslie is tough just
like me. An example of how Leslie is tough is that in the book she stands up to Janice Avery. An
example of how I’m tough is whenever I’m playing sports and I get knocked down I just get right back up
again.
My second reason why Bridge to Terabithia makes me feel finally seen is that Leslie has a hard
time making friends. I can be shy in some situations and can have a hard time making friends, too.
In conclusion, that is why Bridge to Terabithia makes me feel finally seen.
