Brave

By Sydney, Age 11

My feet hitting the grass, crossing the pavement, burning my feet, then I threw myself into her. 10 days earlier.

“Daddy, where’s Mommy!”

“She’s at the hospital,” said Dad. Of course she was.

“ She said she’d be back in two days”.

He was wrong.

Seven days later, late at night: “ Mimi, am I brave?” “Honey, you’re the bravest person I know.”

“Honey, you’re the bravest person I know.”

But I didn’t think so. Now, I’m not trying to be brief here but my dad feels like he got hit by a bus and my mom is still not home. Now I have to go to virtual learning. But I still wonder, how will people react to it? Day 10: Last night someone hurt me by making me feel bad about my religion. But anyway, my mom might COME HOME! I need to make posters. Later: I was playing with Mimi and all of a sudden a car pulled in and my mom was home! My feet hitting the grass, crossing the pavement, burning my feet, then I threw myself into her giving her a giant bear hug. Unfortunately I can’t cry, but she can and she did! My family stood in the driveway.
