A Tale of Magic

By Lia, Age 11

The book that made me feel seen is A Tale of Magic by Chris Colfer. In the story, the main character, Brystal Evergreen, is a girl living in a world of creatures like goblins, trolls, fairies, and elves. Where she lives, women can’t read, get jobs, or even go into libraries. All women do is work around the house. Brystal wanted to escape this world and find a better life. When her father sent her away for breaking the law, Brystal discovered her love for magic and helping people. I can relate to this because sometimes I just want to leave reality and enter a new world.

This book helped me by sweeping me away to a world with extraordinary creatures and magic. It helped me find my love for fantasy.

This book helped me by sweeping me away to a world with extraordinary creatures and magic. It helped me find my love for fantasy. After reading this, I immediately picked up the sequel and started reading. Once I finished the series, I continued to read fantasy books. It was like finding a new piece of myself. That is why A Tale of Magic by Chris Colfer made me feel finally seen.
