A New Year

By Sukhleen, Age 11

It was summer of 2020, I knew something was happening in the world but there was only a week left until school started when my parents told me. I thought I was gonna have a normal first day of school and the virus wouldn’t be impacting me but then I heard. My parents told me that I wouldn’t be able to go to school in person. At first I didn’t believe them but after a while I knew they weren’t lying. I started to think about the good side of this and how I’d get to wake up late everyday and not have homework, but then the first day came. I didn’t even get to know my teacher in real life, and I had so much more work than I was expecting. So just like that I knew it was a start to a new crazy year.
