Healthy Habits

By Egshiglen, Age 12

The pandemic has been a rollercoaster. There were ups and downs, but the bottom line is that I’ve learned to think on the bright side. During the pandemic, I’ve learned to play violin and piano! I learned by attending online classes. It’s crazy how technology has evolved for us to learn so conveniently. A downfall was when I couldn’t meet my friends, and we lost contact. Due to this, I got addicted to the internet. Being addicted to the internet was a nightmare. I would constantly check my phone to see if I’d gotten a text, or I’d play online games 24/7. I started to get more stressed out and I had forgotten about all the things that were important to me. An upside to the pandemic was when my family started healthier habits. Before the pandemic, we would constantly eat junk food and we wouldn’t take care of ourselves. Now that we’re more aware, we’ve started healthier eating habits, exercising routines, and we have better communication with each other.

After this continuous journey of the pandemic, I’ve learned many lessons, but what the pandemic made me realize was to always care for your loved ones, and be hopeful.
